Rite of Orthodoxy

On the first Sunday of Great Lent following Divine Liturgy, a special service called the Rite of Orthodoxy is served in cathedrals to remind us of all of the dogmas of the Holy Church

The first part of the service affirms the main tenet of our faith with the reading of the Creed.  We are then reminded of the main heresies that have arisen over the centuries accompanied by singing "Anathema"

The Church then remembers all of her hierarchs with the singing of "Memory Eternal"

At the end of the service, "Many Years" is sung to the living members of the Church
